After
taking last year off, Marvel comes roaring back to Comic-Con with a handful of
big announcements, including the official casting of Academy Award-winning
actress Brie Larson ("Room") as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel.
The actress appeared at the special Marvel Studios Hall H panel to confirm her
casting in the iconic role.

Although
it seems early to sign on a star for the project, which won't open until 2019, it
is necessary as she is expected to play a role in Civil War directors Anthony
and Joe Russo' Avengers: Infinity War parts 1 and 2.
Written
by Inside Out's Meg LeFauve and Guardians of the Galaxy Nicole Perlman, Captain
Marvel opens in theaters on march 8, 2019.
