Academy Award winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins
has joined the cast of Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight, announced
the official Twitter account for the franchise.
Besides winning the Oscar for his role as
Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs, Hopkins was also nominated for his
roles in Nixon, Amistad, and The Remains of the Day.
Transformers: The Last Knight will not be the
first studio tentpole film for the actor, who is a recurring face on the Marvel
Cinematic Universe as Thor's father Odin. The actor is reprising this role in
the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.

Mark Wahlberg is set to reprise his role from
Age of Extinction, and he is joined by newcomers Isabel Moner and Jarrod Carmichael,
as well as Transformers alum Josh Duhamel, who is also reprising his role but
from the first three installments.
Transformers: The Last Knight opens in theaters
on June 23, 2017.
