Fans of Gareth Edwards 2014 Godzilla
movie will have to wait a while longer to see the beloved Kaiju back on the big
screen.
Warner Bros. has shifted Edwards'
Godzilla sequel from its original June 8 2018 release to March 22, 2019, giving plenty
of time to the filmmaker, who is currently busy with Rogue One: A Star Wars
Story, to get everything ready for his return to the franchise.
The studio has also flagged May 29,
2020 for the epic Godzilla vs. Kong, the fourth movie in the franchise
following Godzilla 2, and Kong: Skull Island starring Tom Hiddleston and Brie
Larson, which will open in theaters on March 10, 2017.
But WB date shuffle doesn't stop at
Kaijus. The studio also pushed the release of the rumored to be Green Lantern Corp movie from
its original June 19, 2020 release date to July 24 of the same year, and staked
December 25, 2018 to a yet untitled event film.
