This
Is the End and Eastbound & Down's Danny McBride has entered negotiations
with 20th Century Fox to star in Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus sequel,
Alien: Covenant.
Apparently,
McBride shares the same love for cinema as Scott, and the two hit it off while
talking about old films. Alien: Covenant will be a chance for McBride to stretch his range with a more dramatic role.
Covenant,
which so far stars Michael Fassbender (Prometheus) and Katherine Waterston (Fantastic
Beasts & Where To Find Them), is the first of a new Alien trilogy that will
link Prometheus to Scott's original film.
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the
colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is
actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic”
David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
