
Disney
has reshuffled their release calendar, and has decided to change the release
date for directors Espen
Sandberg and Joachim Rønning's Pirates of the
Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
According to the studio, the next installment
in the successful franchise will now "set sail on May 26, 2017, from its
previously scheduled July 7, 2017."
Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny
Depp) finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly
ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem),
escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at
sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking
out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon
its possessor total control over the seas.
Pirates
of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales also stars Geoffrey Rush
as Barbossa, Kevin R. McNally as Gibbs, Stephen Graham as Scrum, Orlando Bloom
as Will Turner, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, and Golshifteh Farahani.
