Quite the day for new release
dates. After Spider-Man, Star Wars: Episode VIII, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, it's now time for the Jumanji remake to also receive a
new one.
Sony has announced that they
have filled the gap left by Spider-Man with Jake Kasdan's (Walk Hard) Jumanji,
which will now open on July 28, 2017 instead
of December 25.
Based on the
award-winning children book by Chris Van Allsburg, who will co-produce the new
adaptation alongside Matt Tolmach, Jumanji throws its protagonists into the
adventure of their lives when they decide to play a seemingly ordinary board
game.
The 1995
movie was directed by Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) and
starred Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Jonathan Hyde, Kirsten Dunst, David Alan
Grier, and Patricia Clarkson.
