As expected, after her breakout role in Mission:
Impossible - Rogue Nation, Rebecca Ferguson has began seeing an influx of offers,
including starring in another franchise, or beginnings of one at least, the X-Men
spinoff Gambit, which she refused to instead star in the Tate Taylor adaptation
of Paula Hawkins' The Girl on the Train.
Now, according to Deadline, the actress is also being
eyed to star in The Snowman, Alien: Paradise Lost, and Guernsey (aka The Guernsey
Literary Society and Potato Peel Pie Society).
Based on Jo Nesbø novel of the same name,
The Snowman centers on a police detective investigating the disappearance of a
young boy's mother, during which he comes to the realization that he is
tracking Norway's first serial killer. The Snowman stars Michael Fassbender,
and was initially going to be directed by Martin Scorsese, who left and passed
it on to Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy director, Tomas Alfredson.
It seems that Ridley Scott also took notice
of Ferguson, and is also eyeing the actress for the upcoming Prometheus sequel,
Alien: Paradise Lost.
Apparently, the most recent draft of the script was just delivered and it was
described to them as being "very strong" with "a peach of a
major female." Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are set to reprise
their roles from the first movie in the sequel, which according to Ridley will
introduce a new group of travelers.
Finally, the roles revert, and it is the actress who
is eyeing a potential role, this time in Mike Newell's (Four Weddings and a
Funeral) Guernsey (aka The Guernsey
Literary Society and Potato Peel Pie Society), which is still in early stages
of development.
