Focus Features has
released the first trailer for Stephen Hopkins (The Life and Death of Peter
Sellers) upcoming biopic about Jesse Owens, Race. Starring Selma actor Stephen
James as Owens, Race follows the athletic superstar's desire to become the best
there ever was, propel him into the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany.

Shrapnel (Frankie & Alice) and Anna Waterhouse (Frankie & Alice) and
opening on February 19, Race also stars Jason Sudeikis, William Hurt, Jeremy
Irons, Carice van Houten, Shanice Banton, Eli Goree, Giacomo Gianniotti,
Jonathan Aries, Moe Jeudy-Lamour, and Tim McInnerny.
Based on the
incredible true story of Jesse Owens, the legendary athletic superstar whose
quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him
onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf
Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy. “Race” is an enthralling film about
