After announcing four
new Marvel movies and release dates, including a sequel to Ant-Man, Disney continues
to shake their release calendar like a maraca. The studio has now announced the
official release dates for The Incredibles 2 and Cars 3.
Brad Bird's anticipated
sequel will hit theaters on June 21, 2019, while the much less anticipated threequel
to Cars has been slated for a June 16, 2017 release, pushing Toy Story 4 an
entire year up the schedule to June 15, 2018.
John Lesseter is
attached to direct both Toy Story 4 and Cars 3, but it seems like the latter's
development is further ahead than romantically inclined Toy Story 4, which will
have a screenplay penned by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones.
Disney of course is
also developing more live-action reimagining's of old feature film animations,
like Sword in the Stone, Mulan, Tinkerbell, Dumbo, or Beauty and the Beast, as
well as remakes and sequels of such movies as Pete's Dragon and Mary Poppins.
