Baron Zemo Won't Wear The Mask In Captain America: Civil War Says Daniel Brühl

One of the new characters set to be introduced in Joe and Anthony Russo's Captain America: Civil War is Baron Zemo, played by none other than the German actor Daniel Brühl, who has seen his name rise in the American market thanks to such films as The Bourne Ultimatum (short role), Inglorious Basterds, Rush, and The Fifth Estate.

While promoting his latest project, Burnt, where he stars opposite Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, and Omar Sy, Brühl revealed that his depiction of the villain in the upcoming Marvel movie will not wear his iconic burgundy mask. "He does not wear the mask," the actor told Business Insider.

But the mask or the lack thereof won't be the only thing different about this Baron Zemo, as Brühl says that this version is a bit "different" from what comic book fans may be expecting. "It's loosely connected to this character," he said. "But that's what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they're dealing with always reference to current events so my character is from a different area than you would think."

Other than Loki, Marvel hasn't had much success when it comes to villains, however it seems they are keen in having Zemo stick around. "There's a possibility," said the actor about returning. "That's the way it's written."

Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.
