After some
speculation surrounding the nature of his character, The CW has confirmed with
this latest promo for the second season of The Flash that Franz Drameh will
play Firestorm, or half of it at least.
Drameh is playing Jay
Jackson, an original character for the show who is former high school athlete, and
whose aspirations of having a pro-career went sideways after sustaining an
injury. Now working as an auto mechanic, Jackson will "come to have a
surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew."
I had my suspicions
that Drameh would be Victor Garber's better superhero half mainly because the character felt like he could be a version of Jason Rusch, but since another actor had already established the character I discarded the theory, which
rekindled when Earth-2 was suddenly thrown into the mix.
Whether Jackson is
Rusch or a version of the character remains to be seen, but in the comics, Rusch
becomes Firestorm after Ronnie Raymond's death, but whether this foreshadows what's
in store for Robbie Amell, who we know won't star in Legends of Tomorrow, we will have to wait and see.
The Flash returns on
October 6.
What's with this 'private video' crap?
