After a string of bad
to worse movies, Warner Bros. and Hasbro are teaming up to give Dungeons & Dragons
another throw of the dice with a brand new franchise. The studio has announced
plans for a feature film franchise based on the popular game, and revealed that
they already have a script penned by David Leslie Johnson, whose previous works
includes Orphan, Red Riding Hood, The Walking Dead, rewrites on The Conjuring
2: The Enfield Poltergeist, and Wrath of the Titans.
"We are thrilled
that this beloved property can finally make its way to the big screen after 20
years, and that it can be realized by Warner Bros., which has been responsible
for the biggest fantasy franchises over the past two decades," said
Courtney Solomon, who will produce the franchise alongside Allan Zeman, Brian
Goldner, and Stephen Davis.
