The first trailer for Angelina Jolie's next directorial outing has been
released, and it essentially sets up the mood to By the Sea, which tells the
story of an American couple played by Jolie and real life husband Brad Pitt,
who travel to a picturesque seaside resort in 1970's France with their marriage
in crisis. But as they spend time with other travelers, the couple begins to
come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.
Opening on November 13, By The Sea also stars Mélanie Laurent, Niels
Arestrup, Melvil Poupaud, and Richard Bohringer.
By the Sea follows an American writer named Roland (Pitt) and his
wife, Vanessa (Jolie Pitt), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside
resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend
time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Laurent) and
François (Poupaud), and village locals Michel (Arestrup) and Patrice
(Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their
own lives.
