Because Bond is not
always about Bond, here are a couple of details about the four women that will inhabit
Sam Mendes upcoming 007 movie, the 24th in the long running franchise, which
comes out on November 6.
Léa Seydoux
The French actress
plays Dr. Madeleine Swann, the daughter of an assassin, who first comes into
contact with Bond (Daniel Craig) at an Austrian clinic. Sparks fly, but their
first encounter is abruptly cut short. "He comes to find her," Seydoux
revealed, "and she doesn't want anything to do with him."
Monica Bellucci
Playing Lucia
Sciarra, the widow from a husband with ties to the Mafia, and who has been
murdered, Bellucci meets Bond when he arrives in Italy looking for some
information. "She comes from a man’s
world," Bellucci says. "But when the attraction between them
takes place and she realizes her feminine power on him, then she trusts him to
save her."
Naomie Harris
After nearly killing Bond in
Skyfall, Moneypenny "reassess what she
was doing as a profession and what she wanted to do with the rest of her
life," Harris says. In Spectre, "she wants to
support in a different way. There’s a maturity in that decision and a
groundedness you see with her."
Stephanie Sigman
There is a lot of
secrecy behind Estrella that Sigman doesn't want anyone to know, including the
character's last name, but "there's a lot
of Stephanie in her. She's a lot like me," the Mexican actress said.
"We like to have fun and we're joyful people. I found her really
easy to play and go with the flow and just be me."
Spectre
also stars Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott, Ben
Wishaw, Rory Kinnear, and Jesper Christensen.
