In the first season
of Marvel's Daredevil, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) managed to cripple Wilson Fisk's
(Vincent D'Onofrio) criminal syndicate in more ways than one. Kingpin is locked-up,
Madame Gao is gone, Leland is doing who knows what, and everyone else is dead,
which leaves Hell's Kitchen as the perfect breeding ground for new villains to
emerge, like Lester, better known as Bullseye.
A few months ago we
reported that the second season of the Netflix series would include the iconic
villain, who always hits his target with dead aim, and now according to the
Latino Review, Marvel is looking at Jason Statham for the role.
Though a fight
between people in costumes is always good fun, one of the things that in my
opinion made Daredevil stand out from the competition (Flash, Arrow) were the beatings
he gave and received from low-level street thugs, so let's hope that the show
doesn't lose that gritty (yes I said it) appeal.
What I also don't
want the series to lose is its writing and overall direction now that Doug
Petrie and Marco Ramirez have been brought onboard to replace showrunner Steven
S. DeKnight.
