Disney has added another film to their packed schedule of
animation-to-live-action films. With The Jungle Book, Mulan, Winnie the Pooh,
Tinker Bell, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, and a twist on the Jack
and the Beanstalk, now comes an adaptation of Night On Bald Mountain, a segment
of Disney's classic animation, Fantasia.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dracula Untold, and The Last Witch
Hunter scribes, Matt Sazama, and Burk Sharpless will be penning the script and
producing the adaptation, which according to them will be similar to what the
studio did with Maleficent.
The idea of turning Night On Bald Mountain into a live-action feature film
is intriguing to say the least, but mainly because they can go wherever they
want with it, even if they go the Maleficent way and Chernabog is just a misunderstood
villain.
