After a streak of
successes including the Jump Street franchise, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Lego
movie, writers and directors Chris Miller, and Phil Lord have become two of the
most sought after talent in Tinseltown (Hollywood), so it wasn't surprising
when Warner Bros. announced that they had tapped the duo to develop
the upcoming Flash film, starring not Grant Gustin but Ezra Miller.
Lord's voice was recently heard on
the HippoJuice Podcast, and the writer/director spoke for the very first time
about the project, and revealed where they are with the script.
We’re trying to break a story. It’s interesting, because there’s a really
popular TV show out there, and we’re trying to carve out space for the movie
that’s apart from that. I think we’re doing alright. … I believe [our Flash] is
going to be Barry Allen. … It’s going to be it’s own [thing, apart from the TV
show] — we’re more trying to stick with the cinematic universe… it really is
its own thing, and kind of a stand-alone movie. We’re just trying to think of
the best story. I think you guys will like it, it’s kind of a different take on
superhero stuff.
Listen to more on The Flash, The Last Man on Earth, and more.
If there is a movie FLASH and a TV FLASH then there is no reason for SUPERGIRL to not have an occasional SUPERMAN flyby now is there? Just because some characters are in Suicide Squad doesn't mean they can't be on ARROW or FLASH. After all, It's their decision not to have combined universe like MARVEL.
