After playing a comic book character in Avengers: Age
of Ultron, James Spader is turned into one.
Titan Comics has announced that they will be extending
NBC's hit drama The Blacklist into a comic series set to be written by Nicole
Phillips, and drawn by Beni Lobel, and featuring new storylines starring Red
Reddington (Spader), Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone), and other characters from
the TV show.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, editor David Leach
says that the comic will be "a true extension of the television series"
offering "new dimensions of the characters that have
captured the audiences worldwide."
The
first six-issues will give fans "a journey deep into the dark world of
international espionage, conspiracies and intrigue on a global scale", added Leach.
The
Blacklist #1 hits stores and the digital market on July 22.
