Surprisingly, earlier
this month, we reported that Disney had decided to go ahead with a sequel to
the 2010 Tron, and that filming was scheduled to start this fall in Vancouver
with Joseph Kosinski returning once again to the director's chair.
Now Production Weekly
claims that Tron 3 will be titled Tron: Ascension and that the plan is for
principal photography to start in early October and wrap up in February of the
next year.

It's unclear if
Garrett Hedlund (Sam Flynn) and Olivia Wilde (Quorra) will return to reprise
their leading roles, but according to what Kosinski said last year, "we will pick [up] with where Tron Legacy left off with Quorra in
the real world and what does that mean and the possibilities it opens up for
the next chapter. It's the relationship between the two of them that's the next
step."
