Rob
Kazinsky (Pacific Rim, True Blood) has been cast in the leading role of Fox's
upcoming pilot for Frankenstein police/drama series, which will deviate from
Mary Shelley's novel and focus on a corrupt retired cop called (Adam?)
Pritchard, who dies but is given a second chance. Younger and stronger, Pritchard
will now have to choose between his old life and his new purpose.
The character is
further described as athletic, strong and handsome; the Frankenstein
"monster" who is the reanimated version of a much older
Pritchard, a former Marine and county sheriff who was recently
murdered. Brought back from the dead, Pritchard may have a new body, but
his mind is still that of a 75-year-old badass curmudgeon.
Though
still sounding formulaic and generic, it does sound slightly better then the last time we heard anything about the project. Then the character was
called Adam Tremble, and an "antisocial Internet billionaire" and
"his bio-engineer twin sister" brought him back to life to fight "threats beyond the FBI's
capabilities".
Unfortunately, we can't confirm if the twin
characters have been kept in or scrapped since it was first reported.
