For a franchise that
according with director Ridley Scott and writer Damon Lindelof is not a prequel
to Alien, Prometheus does seem to like to intrude quite a bit into Xenomorph
turf. Speaking to Empire, director Neill Blomkamp once again showed his dislike
for the last two installments in the horror/sci-fi franchise, Alien 3 and Alien
Resurrection. "Where it went after ‘Aliens’ to me, as a fan, was wrong,"
the director said. "There’s a shitload missing as a fan that I would
want to see."
The director, whose
latest film, Chappie is underperforming at the box-office, also added that his Alien's
plot had to be slightly readjusted because of Scott's upcoming Prometheus sequel.
"I
changed the one thing [Ridley Scott] felt was bumping [the]
‘Prometheus’ [sequel] a little bit," and that the titled is "quite
bold", but it would have given too much away so he was tight lipped about
it.
