In what can only be
described as some master level trolling, Paramount Pictures wants the Academy
of Motion Pictures Art and Science to consider Michael Bay's Transformers: Age
of Extinction to the Best Picture of the Year category at the upcoming Oscars. Have
you stopped laughing? Well there is more. The studio also wants the Academy to consider the film for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Director. The chances of either happening are not even almost 0% they are 0%, but good try Paramount.
In addition to the aforementioned Transformers:
Age of Extinction, the studio's "For Your Consideration" list
also includes Noah, Hercules (Best Score), Men, Woman & Children, Interstellar, Top Five, The Gambler, and Selma.
For the fourth entry
in the Transformers franchise to be nominated for the Best Picture award, the
Academy would have to stretch the current 10 movie limit to what? 1000? 10.000?
I would like to say I'm
surprised but when one of the producer of the film (Lorenzo di Bonaventura)
says that studios are the bastions of quality, what do you expect?
