"With great power comes great responsibility",
said Uncle Ben to Peter, unfortunately he didn't said it to Sony which not only
made a piss-poor job with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (my opinion) but also at
turning it around and confidently announcing the schedule for the rest of the
franchise, which I'm sure would reassure some Spidey fans (at least me).
At this time Sinister Six seems to be the only project
actively moving forward (despite the lack of any news). However, according to
Badass Digest it looks like Sony have plans for another super-team, in this
case one composed of female characters from the Spider-Man universe.
"We heard that Sony has plans for a female Spidey
character to get her own movie, but what if the plans were for all the Spidey characters to come together in one movie?
That's the premise of the project they're calling Glass
Ceiling (likely
not the actual title) - a team-up movie that would bring the female Spidey
characters together."
Back in August Deadline reported that Sony was
developing a female spin-off with Lisa Joy Nolan
(Westworld) on writing duties, and Avi Arad, and Matthew Tolmach attached to
produce. Maybe the idea grew and they decided to add more
characters? (I think I've seen this movie before…)
Anyhow, BD goes on to say a few names
that could end up in this rumored spin-off, and they are Black Cat, Spider-Girl
(she's from an alternate universe, so I don't know how they would pull it off),
Silk, Spider-Woman, and Firestar.
As always take it with a grain of
salt, but what do you think of an all female Spider-Man spin-off?
