As previously noted, Marvel's
A-Holes, the Guardians of the Galaxy will indeed have an animated series of
their own, and now according to The New York Times we know that the series will
come out on Disney XD next year.
The animated series
will feature the same characters as the film, and according to Marvel’s vice
president for current animation, Stephen Wacker, it will "strive to replicate
the movie’s offbeat sense of humor. The show’s plot, he said, would pick up
where the movie left off. The purple-skinned Thanos, a Marvel supervillain,
will figure prominently." Despite picking up where the film left
off, it shouldn't have much impact on the upcoming 2017 sequel.
Wacker goes on to say
that, "one lesson is “not to underestimate the audience,” Mr. Wacker
said. “You can’t be afraid to go deeper, to explore stories and characters with
some depth. This audience may be young, but it can spot a stinker a mile away.”"
What did you think?
