The
Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO, Bob Iger (left) was with CNBC's
Closing Bell, and gave a brief statement about J.J. Abrams' Star
Wars: Episode VII, revealing that he saw some footage, and that the
implications are pretty large. Iger also reassured fans that this
movie will be exciting.
"I
can only tell you that production is underway. We had a very brief
hiatus ... which is due in part to the fact that Harrison Ford broke
his ankle.
The footage we've seen is very, very exciting to us, I think there's about 500 days left between now and December 18th, 2015 when the movie comes out. That doesn't seem like very long.
There's a lot of pent up demand. We're just as excited as the fans are about it."
Opening
on December 18th, 2015, Star Wars: Episode VII stars Mark Hamill,
Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny
Baker, Lupita Nyong'o, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar
Isaac, Andy Serkis, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von
Sydow, Crystal Clarke, and Pip Anderson.
