One of the
co-writers and artist of the source material used for the upcoming X-Men: Days
of Future Past movie, John Bryne says that he wasn't asked to make a cameo in
the movie and even if he had been, he wouldn't have accepted it.
Chris
Claremont, the other co-writer of the Days of Future Past comic and Wolverine
co-creator Len Wein were invited to make cameos in the movie, but Bryne says "Nope," he won't and "Nope!" he wouldn't have accepted the invitation, he says in his forum.
Why? you ask. Well...
"Given how much I've
haaaaaaaaated what the movies have done with the X-Men, being offered a 'cameo'
would feel a lot like the prom scene in CARRIE."
Like many other co-creators, Bryne is often left out
as everyone credits Chris Claremont as
the sole writer for the story.
"A friend informs me
that the Wykeepeedya, in its ongoing efforts to get everything wrong, lists
Chris, and only Chris, as the 'writer' of the original story."
Well i
would like to say that the "Wykeepeedya" as updated their Days of
Future Past comic page and now gives credit to Bryne as a co-creator.
If it
happened to you, would you not make a cameo?
