With the
exception of cast and director, not much is known about the upcoming Fantastic
Four reboot. Now producer and screenwriter Simon Kinberg reveals some plot
points about the movie.
When
asked by Den of the Geek, which run of the comic book inspired the movie and
its characters, Kinberg revealed:
"We’re definitely telling a
younger story that the original films did. It depends on what books you look
at. There are some, like the Ultimate books, that tell this story. So it is an
origin story of the Fantastic Four, and it does follow them before they really
know what a superhero is."
Kinberg was then asked if we would see the
iconic sequence in which the characters gain their powers after being hit by
cosmic rays during a space flight:
"There
is archetypal imagery of how they get their powers, for sure, and it does
involve some sort of scientific travel."
Shooting
on Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot is set to start in two weeks in
Louisiana, with Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic, Michael B. Jordan as
the Human Torch, Kate Mara as the Invisible Woman, Jamie Bell as The Thing and
Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom.
