One of the things fans want to see
from a Marvel Studios movie is besides whatever cool story and action is going
on in front of them, is how will it tie in with the rest of the MCU (Marvel
Cinematic Universe). The recent Captain America: The Winter Soldier gave us some
hints of what's to come in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but what about Guardians of
the Galaxy? Well it seems that James Gunn's "bunch of A-holes" are
going to be (for now at least) detached from the immediate MCU storyline.
While speaking to EW, Gunn confirmed
that Thanos will indeed make an appearance in Guardians via motion-capture,
describing him has "the head of the snake."
Gunn then added that Guardians is
very much part of the MCU, and teased to which film, it is connected to.
"We're definitely connected to
'Avengers 3.'"
Like the upcoming Ant-Man, Guardians
of the Galaxy is a big unknown for Marvel, as they aren't BIG outside the fan
base, like for instances Cap or Thor, so in the interview Gunn gave us a little
introduction to the character.
“[Star-Lord] was abducted from Earth
(Missouri) at age 8 and raised in a group of thieves and smuggles called the
Ravagers. He’s good with the ladies and a little bit of a dick and very lucky.
Thanos slaughtered [Gamora's] family and Nebula’s, then raised them together as
siblings. They were bio engineered to become living weapons, so he’s really
good at killing people.”
