Deadline is reporting that Lucy
Griffiths (True Blood), Harold Perrineau (Lost) and Charles Halford (True
Detective) have joined NBC’s Constantine pilot.
Griffiths will play Liv, the
daughter of a former friend of Constantine, who is targeted by demons and is
described as "an offbeat young woman tired of her ordinary life who comes
to discover that she has the ability of seeing the supernatural world among us,
which makes her a key player in the battle between good and evil.”
Perrineau will play Manny,
Constantine’s guardian angel that as the ability to step into other people’s
bodies.
And Halford will play Chas, who
is Constantine’s "oldest friend and staunch companion."
The three actors will join actor
Matt Ryan (Constantine) in the pilot written by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel)
and Daniel Cerone’s (The Mentalist) and directed by Neil Marshall.
Constantine is based on the DC
Comics/Vertigo character of the same name from the Hellblazer comic book
series. Constantine is a supernatural detective with powers of his own who
fights supernatural beings and makes more foes then friends.
