The Social Network dream team,
aka director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin are going to reteam
for another biopic about another tech pioneer. A couple of years Sorkin was
tapped to write a screenplay from Steve Jobs official biography, but unlike The
Social Network and the other, less successful Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton
Kutcher, this one was going to be somewhat unique as Sorkin wrote three, 30
minute scenes.
According to Variety director
David Fincher is in early talks to helm the movie, provided that the director
likes not only Sorkin’s script but this new form of telling a story.
Here is what the screenwriter
told The Daily Beast:
““I hope I don’t get killed by
the studio for giving too much away,” Sorkin said, “but this entire movie is
going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real
time.”
Real time, Sorkin said, “is when
a half hour for you in the audience is the same as a half hour for the
character on the screen. There will be no time cuts. Each of these three scenes
is going to take place before a product launch—backstage before a product
launch. The first one being the Mac, the second one being NeXT (after he had
left Apple), and the third one being the iPod.””
