This past week and weekend rumors about the highly anticipated Zack Snyder sequel to Man of Steel, titled (so far) Batman vs. Superman have come in many shape and sizes, from actresses being tested for a role as Wonder Woman, to other Justice League Members appearing to the latest rumor, which was that actor Adam Driver (Girls) was being eyed by the studio and Snyder to play Batman’s former sidekick Robin, now called Nightwing. Has always these rumors are just that rumors, so don’t take anything for granted just yet.
Well
today a new rumor has surfaced. According to SMN, the list of actors that are
up for the role of Nightwing contains six names, among which there are two that
seem to be serious contenders for the role, Penn Badgley and Ezra Miller.
Penn
Badgley is probably most famous for his appearance in Gossip Girl, Easy A,
Greetings from Tim Buckley and is currently shooting Michael Almereyda’s take
on Cymbeline by author William Shakespeare opposite Dakota Johnson, Ethan
Hawke, Ed Harris, Anton Yelchin and Milla Jovovich. As for Ezra Miller, his
more noticeable roles were in Californication, We Need to Talk About Kevin,
City Island and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
If
the rumors are true and Nightwing is truly going to appear in one of the FILMS
of 2015, then there is an issue regarding these two actors. For instance, the
first rumored actor to play Nightwing, Adam Driver looks like he belongs; meaning
he has the stature and physical presence to play the character, while both
Miller and Badgley look like they could play not Nightwing but Robin, especially
Miller. But because at this point these are all half-trues, rumors, conjectures
and fabrications, all is possible.
