Here is the first trailer for Hayao Miyazaki’s upcoming film, The Wind Rises, which tells the story of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who design the Zero Fighter planes that flew in World War 2.
The
Wind Rises seems a little bit of a departure, because although his
films are always set in the “real” World, there is always
something that pushed them into fantasy land. I love Miyazaki-san
work; he is one of my favorite directors, so it will be interesting
to see what his take on something like the creation of the Japanese
airplanes that flew during WWII will be.
Personally my three favourite fillms are "My Neighbor Totoro", "Spirited Away" and "Mononoke Hime". What is your favourite Miyazaki Film?
The
Wind Rises opened on July 20th
in
Japan and will open on February 21st
in the US.
