It
seems that The CW's intentions of introducing Barry Allen, aka The
Flash in the Arrow tv show before moving to its own tv series as been
shut down. Initially the plan was to introduce Barry Allen (Grant
Gustin) in the eighth and ninth episodes and then introduce The Flash
in the twentieth, which then would have spin-off to do his own show,
but now the network as decided to stick with just the two episodes
which features Allen and drop the third one in favor of doing a
normal pilot.
Per
Deadline the episodes that just feature Barry Allen and not The Flash
were positive enough for the network to decide to scrap the twentieth
episode and move forward with a regular pilot episode which is a good
thing if you consider that now all of the budget will be focused on
The Flash and not divided for all of the characters in Arrow. The two
episodes with Barry will still air but no episode twenty.
So
far the plans for The Flash and Arrow inhabit the same universe
remain, which makes the crossover episodes highly likely.
