Although meeting the box-office predictions on the opening weekend, Ender’s Game didn’t dominate the theaters and for that reason Lionsgate, the studio behind the film, is pondering on whether or not to follow the plans for a sequel.
According
to Variety, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told analysts that the studio will “wait
another week or two” before deciding on whether or not to do another movie based on Orson Scott Card’s
series of 13 novels. Of course a movie can flop or at least not reach its
intended revenue mark at the box-office and still make it big on DVD, Blu-ray’s,
tv, etc…, so the box-office although important it’s not the only success marker
there is.
But
if not a sequel, then apparently Lionsgate is also thinking in bringing the
book series to the small screen.
