It seems that after some time in development, Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man is narrowing down on the possible choices for the cast in the lead role.
Per
Variety, actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd are the two frontrunners for
the spot, but have one last meeting to attend with both Marvel execs and
director Edgar Wright, before any final announcements are made. As usual some
other actor’s name will un-doubly appear, but in the meantime, they are it.
For
those that don’t know, Rudd and Levitt are going in for the lead character,
Ant-Man a brilliant scientist that invented a substance that allows him to
manipulate in size, from as small as a, well, Ant to as tall as a building,
although at this point we can assume that this trait will be left out, until he
joins The Avengers (?). (More on the character)
Bringing
Wright to helm the project also brings his sense of humor, which will probably end
up on screen, meaning that Paul Rudd will have a better chance at getting the
role?
