Dwayne
Johnson will lead New Line’s upcoming disaster flick San Andreas, and can you
guess what the disaster is…yes an earthquake.
San
Andreas will be directed by Brad Peyton, who previously worked with Johnson on Journey
2: The Mysterious Island, and will have a script by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy
Passmore, with a rewrite by brothers Chad and Carey Hayes.
The
film will follow a man (Johnson) as he tries to rescue his estranged daughter
after a devastating earthquake hit California. The character that Johnson will
play has been described has a “rugged rescue helicopter pilot”.
Johnson
just finished Brett Ratner’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars and is currently
shooting James Wan’s Fast & Furious 7, but despite this, San Andreas is scheduled
to start shooting on April of 2014, with a 2015 planned released date.
