Michael
B. Jordan has quickly become one of the most talked about actors of this year, thanks
to this summer’s Fruitvale Station and last year’s Chronicle.
Recently
there has been quite a lot of news regarding the actor’s upcoming projects,
like playing Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch in Josh Trank’s reboot of the
Fantastic Four. Jordan is also set to star in a Rocky spin-off, called Creed
with Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler. There have also been some rumors
that the actor has been having some meetings, for the upcoming Star Wars:
Episode VII, and today it seems that the actor is being eyed for the lead role
in the upcoming Roland Emmerich sequel Independence Day 2.
News
that the actor is being considered for the role aren’t exactly shocking, since
not only is he a good actor is a wide variety of genres already in his back
pocket, but the film is supposedly set 20 years after the first film, and is to
follow the child of Will Smith and Vivica A. Fox.
In a
recent interview, Emmerich said that the sequel will probably be pushed from
its anticipated 2015 release date, to 2016.
