During a recent interview with SR, about the upcoming
Jonathan Liebesman’s TMNT, starring Megan Fox as
April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete
Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick
and Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter, Fichtner talks about his character and how he will look in the film.
In the original comic book, films and later on
cartoons, Shredder’s name was Oroku Saki, will it remain the same in this new
view of the TMNT? Apparently not because:
“I
actually play a guy named Eric Sachs [Sounds like Sachs? Hard to understand] in
the movie. And then he goes through a few stages in his existence.”
Fichtner
continued by talking about how the film
was going;
“But Turtles is coming together very, very
cool. There is a whole interesting dynamic that happens in the world of Turtles
and all I can really say about it at this point while working on it is that the
Turtle film, it’s not like anything that I remember about the Turtles before. I
feel like this Michael Bay-produced movie is just gonna really be something
else. I’m pretty excited.”
But
wait… Shredder is Japanese, surely they aren’t going to put Japanese prosthetics
on Fichtner’s face so he can look the part?
“You
know, uh, you know I think it would be much more exciting to find out these
things as it unfolds.”
