It
would seem that the next feature film adaptation based on a literary property co-created
by Mark Millar will not be Nemesis, Chrononauts, Superior or even Starlight, projects
we have heard about over the last few years, but Empress.
Although
the feature film development of Empress was just announced, Millar has decided
to reveal who has been officially cast to play the titular in a not to subtle
Tweet.

Based on the yet unpublished series that he is doing with artist Stuart Immonen and that will hit stands in April of this year, Empress "centers on the wife of a galactic dictator (think someone akin to Ming the Merciless from Flash Gordon) who makes the decision to take her three kids and leave her evil husband. With the aid of a bodyguard, she tries to take her brood — Aine, her 15-year-old daughter who wants to be with her father; Adam, her gentle soul of a 10-year-old son who she knows would not survive the trials ahead to be an elite ruler; and Puck, her 18-month-old — to her home world."
