In a previous post we announced that actor John C.
Reilly had been offered a role in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but the
role wasn’t announced, well today we know that John C. Reilly is going to play
the role of Ronan The Accuser.
Throughout the comic book universe, Ronan The Accuser
is a member of the Kree Empire and has been either a villain or a noble. Ronan
possesses superhuman strength and speed and wields a long hammer called “Universal
Weapon” with which he passes judgment. In the comic book world he is also
sometimes portrait as the son of Thanos, so we can assume that this is going to
be incorporated somehow in the film, since Thanos already appeared in The
Avengers.
Joining Gunn and Reilly will be Chris Pratt, Zoe
Saldana, Dave Bautista, Glenn Close, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker and Benicio Del
Toro.
Guardians of the Galaxy is schedule to open on August
1 of 2014.
