Has
I explained in a previous post, DC Comics have some problems in adapting their
content to the big screen, Batman seems to be the only title that has done well
in recent years, but with Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel set to arrive in theaters
this summer, the expectation on whether they are going to introduce Wonder
Woman in it is yet unknown.
According
to CBM, Warner Bros. are going to something like what Marvel did, they are
going to “drop hints that Superman is in a
shared universe with his DC counterparts,”, hoping that in the future a
Justice League film could be made. Let’s just hope that all the crazy with
comic books adaptation don’t go out of fashion by that time.
According to We Got This Covered, which apparently
have an inside source, Wonder Woman will appear in Man Of Steel if they find
someone to play the part.
“In thinking this, I spoke to one of
our sources that has close ties to the project and he confirmed to me that CBM
is correct in that the studio is trying to find a way to referenceWonder Woman. But, our source also disputes CBM on the
fact that there won’t be a cameo.
From what
I’m hearing, the studio isn’t opposed to doing a cameo and if the timing works
out (ie: if they find a Wonder Woman and
announce the casting on time), then they may be able to pull it off. So don’t rule
it out just yet.”
But
that being said there is always the possibility of Wonder Woman not
appearing at all in the movie. So
let’s wait and see what future holds for Man
Of Steel and Wonder Woman.
The film stars Henry
Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, and Russell Crowe. Man of Steel opens in 3D
on June.
Official Synopsis:
In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman
is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El
(Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers
beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an
advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I
here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan
Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making
very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes
under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used
to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only
to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
