Paramount has released a brand
new trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight, Michael Bay's fifth and last
installment in the franchise.
The trailer features Mark
Wahlberg, who is reprising his role from the previous movie, Grimlock behaving
like a pet, and newcomer Isabela Moner delivering
a feminist (sort of) message, which sounds hollow considering Bay's appalling record
of women characters.
In Transformers: The Last Knight, Optimus Prime
finds his home planet, Cybertron, now a dead planet, in which he comes to find
he was responsible for killing. He finds a way to bring the planet back to
life, but in order to do so, he needs to find an artifact, which is on Earth.
Opening in
theaters on June 23, The Last Knight stars Anthony
Hopkins, Laura Haddock, Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, John Goodman, John
Turturro, Jean Dujardin, Gil Birmingham, and Josh Duhamel.
The Last
Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a
hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to
saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history
of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the
shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an
English Lord (Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Haddock).
There comes a
moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted
will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive:
theirs, or ours.
