Henry Cavill has officially joined the cast of
Christopher McQuarrie's upcoming Mission: Impossible sequel.
The announcement was made in a series of humorous backs-and-forths
between McQuarrie and Cavill on the filmmaker's Instagram.
McQuarrie returns to direct the sixth installment of
the long-running action franchise from a script he wrote, along with stars Tom
Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, and Jeremy Renner.
The director is producing the movie alongside Cruise,
J.J. Abrams, Don Granger, and Skydance's David Ellison and Dana Goldberg.
The yet untitled Mission: Impossible 6 opens in
theaters on July 27, 2018.
