Paramount Pictures has
released a brief behind-the-scenes look at Section 9, the elite task force responsible
for dealing with the most dangerous cyber
criminals and extremist in the world of Ghost in the Shell.
In the film, the group is
composed of the Major (Scarlett Johansson), Batou (Pilou Asbæk), Daisuke Aramaki (Takeshi Kitano), Ishikawa (Lasarus Ratuere),
Ladriya (Danusia Samal), Togusa (Chin Han), Saito (Yutaka Izumihara), and Borma
(Tawanda Manyimo).
Directed by Rupert Sanders ("Snow White and the
Huntsman"), the film follows a one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid (Johansson),
who leads the elite task force Section 9 in their efforts to stop the most
dangerous cyber criminals and extremist.
Loosely based on Masamune Shirow's iconic sci-fi manga series,
Ghost in the Shell also stars Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, Michael Wincott, Rila
Fukushima, Chris Obi, Jordan Rivers, Joseph Naufahu, Peter Ferdinando, Kaori
Momoi, Xavier Horan, and Adwoa Aboah.
From a script by Jonathan Herman ("Straight Outta
Compton") and Jamie Moss ("Street Kings"), Ghost in the Shell
opens in theaters on March 31.
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi
property, Ghost In The Shell follows the Major (Scarlett Johansson), a special
ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section
9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremist, Section 9 is
faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotics'
advancements in cyber technology.
