Collin Farrell is in
negotiations to star in Tim Burton's upcoming live-action take on Dumbo for
Disney.
Based on Disney's 1941 animated movie, Dumbo tells the story of a baby
circus elephant that is made fun of for having been born with big hears and is
forcefully separated from his mother. Dumbo later learns how to use them to
fly, becoming a circus star, and reuniting with his mother.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but sources claim that in
this version of events, the circus portion of the story will be much more
developed in comparison to the original film with four lead human characters in
addition to the CGI elephant.
Should he sign on to the project, the actor would join Eva Green and Danny
DeVito.
Farrell, who was most recently seen in Fantastic Beast and Where to Find
Them, and The Lobster, will next star in Sofia Coppola's The Beguiled, and
Yorgos Lanthimos' ("The Lobster") The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
