A
new trailer for Netflix's Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events has
landed online, and it warns viewers that "if you are interested in a story
with a happy ending, that story is streaming elsewhere. This story has no happy
ending, no happy beginning, and very few happy things in the middle."
Based
on Daniel Handler's book series of the same name, A Series of Unfortunate recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and
Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on
their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his
many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’
mysterious death.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is a Netflix original
production, executive produced by Emmy Award winner Barry Sonnenfeld and Daniel
Handler, and stars Malina Weissman (Violet Baudelaire), Louis Hynes (Klaus
Baudelaire), Neil Patrick Harris (Count Olaf), Joan Cusack (Justice Strauss),
K. Todd Freeman (Mr. Poe), Aasif Mandavi (Uncle Monty), Patrick Warburton
(Lemony Snicket), Alfre Woodard (Aunt Josephine), and Catherine O'Hara (Dr.
Georgina Orwell).
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events premieres on the steaming
giant on January 13, 2017.
