Fresh of the success
of Westworld, HBO is reteaming with director and producer J.J. Abrams for yet
another sci-fi drama series.
The cable network is
joining forces with Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions company to develop
Glare, an hour-long space drama centered on the colonization of another planet.
Javier Gullón ("Enemy")
is set to write the script, and serve as an executive producer alongside Abrams, and former BBC head and current Bad Robot head of development Ben Stephenson.
Besides Westworld,
Abrams' recent television credits as a producer include Person of Interest, the
short-lived music drama Roadies, Hulu's miniseries 11.22.63., and the EPIX documentary
America Divided.
