After
weeks and months of false advertising leading fans and media down a drain of speculation,
we finally know what the theme of the sixth season of American Horror Story
will be.
Last
night the sixth season of AHS premiered on FX and it opened with several
confessional interviews reenacted by series favorite Sarah Paulson in a documentary
style format titled My Roanoke Nightmare.
Earlier this
summer, FX CEO John Landgraf that the marketing team for AHS, led by Stephanie
Gibbons, "went out and created many more
trailers than you’ve actually seen for hypothetical seasons of American
Horror Story, in different genres, different places. One of them is accurate,
and the others are all misdirects. … We think it will be fun for the audience
to have the surprise this year."
At
this time, it is unclear whether the anthology series will focus on a new reenactment
each week or not, but for now let us just enjoy the ride.
