Warner Bros. Pictures
has released the first trailer for Oscar winning filmmaker Clint Eastwood's
newest biopic Sully. Based on a true story, Sully stars Tom Hanks as Chelsey
"Sully" Sullenberger, the airline pilot who on 2009 glided his
disabled plane onto the cold waters of the Hudson River saving the lives of all
155 passengers.
It will be
interesting to see if and how Eastwood was able to make Sully suspenseful since everyone knows the ending.
Opening in theaters
on September 9, Sully also stars Aaron Eckhart, Laura Linney, Anna Gunn, Sam
Huntington, Jerry Ferrara, Jeff Kober, and Molly Hagan.
On January 15, 2009,
the world witnessed the “Miracle on the Hudson” when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger
glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving
the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by
the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an
investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his
career.
