Minority Report's Nick
Zano has joined the second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow as Dr. Nate Heywood, better known as the superhero Citizen Steel.
In the comics, Nate is
the grandson of Henry Heywood, aka the original Commander Steel, and the cousin
Henry Heywood III, aka the second Steel. After an injury to his knee results in
having his leg amputated, Nate forcibly retires from what would have been a promising
career as an American Football player and turns to painkillers in
order to escape the pain and suffering. One day while at a family reunion, Vandal
Savage's Fourth Reich group attacks Nate and his family murdering the majority of
them, and accidently turning Nate into a being made of living steel.
Nate is one of two
new series regulars being added to the second season of Legends of Tomorrow
following the departure Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), and Captain Cold's (Wentworth
Miller) downgrade to recurring character on both The Flash and Legends.
Citizen Steel has
appeared in several DC Comic key storylines including Kingdom Come and Blackest
Night.
